Please contact the Lodge directly to enquire about the Road conditions during those Months.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>The 96km riverside road from Epupa Falls to Kunene River Lodge has recently been upgraded. &nbsp;This is &nbsp;scenic route by the river and the Zebra mountains. &nbsp;Whilst 4&#215;4 is not necessary in dry conditions, a high clearance vehicle is recommended. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/RESxiDCmq7SE68Z19\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">&nbsp;Kunene River \u2013 Ruacana Area D3700, North-west Kunene, Namibia<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">From the South via Opuwo<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From Kamanjab take the tarred C35 to Opuwo (approx. 250kms).&nbsp; From Opuwo take C41 for 135kms (about 2.5kms) to Kunene River Lodge along the D3700 go Epembe and D3701 to Swartbooisdrift &#8211; both good, gravel roads, normally passable.&nbsp; High clearance vehicle is recommended.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">From the South or West via Epupa and\/or Epembe<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can choose to take the easy scenic route.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Take the&nbsp; D3700 gravel road from Epupa Falls to Epembe, then the D3701 from Epembe to Swartbooisdrift before reaching Kunene River Lodge, totalling 165 km (driving time 3-4 hours).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Both roads are graded regularly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">NOTE:&nbsp; The 96km riverside road from Epupa Falls to Kunene River Lodge has recently been upgraded.&nbsp; This is&nbsp; scenic route by the river and the Zebra mountains.&nbsp; Whilst 4&#215;4 is not necessary in dry conditions, a high clearance vehicle is recommended.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">From the East via Ruacana<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ruacana is reachable by tarred roads from the east via B1\/C46 and also from the south via the C35.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Just 15kms west of Ruacana (D3701) the road becomes gravel for 45kms to Kunene River Lodge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">NOTE:&nbsp; This road is generally fine in the dry season, but if the river floods, the diversions demand 4 wheel drive.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>There are three road routes to Kunene River Lodge.
